Happy Halloween

Wheels and Dollbaby are an iconic Australian fashion label who make clothes "to snag a millionaire". They say that each of their unique pieces exudes "confidence, individuality, playfulness & above all else femininity".

This amazing Skull print dress is typical of the Wheels and Dollbaby aesthetic; classic conservative meets rock & roll goth chic! I fell in love with the contradiction of the classic shirt dress reworked with the brands iconic skull print.

I bought the dress some time ago and it comes out to play time and time again! I wear it anywhere; to parties, shopping (paired with my battered old Converse) and on stage with my band. I especially love wearing it onstage at Festivals, it gets such a great reaction from the crowds!

I wore it last weekend for Halloween drinks with friends. It wasn't fancy dress but I couldn't resist dressing to suit the occasion! I styled it with my favourite black Louboutin peep-toe shoes and a dark wine, rather gothic lipstick to compliment the cool skulls.

Purple Reign

There are so many of my favourite things in this look; leather, studs, sparkles, my favourite colour purple & amazing Irish Designer Emma Manley.

Emma describes a Manley garment as "elegant, understated and full of charactor" and that describes the 'Katlyn' dress in a nutshell. Available in three colours, black, grey & purple (of course I chose purple!) this achingly cool jersey dress features a contrast leather collar with edgy stud embellishment, rear zip fastening, a sleeveless fitted top and gently flared skirt. Ticking so many trend boxes it is perfect for day or night dressing and I absolutely love it! In fact, I love it so much, I'm very tempted to get a second one in one of the other great colours!

I styled it for a fun night out with the most amazing glittery shoe boots from Topshop. These suede boots, with side buckle fastening and stunning silver glitter inserts are dead ringers for the iconic Miu Miu glitter booties but were a fraction of the cost; good ol' Toppers! They cause quite a stir every time they come out to play and were the perfect match for 'Katlyn'!

Lace Shorts

I absolutely love shorts, I wear them a lot, regardless of season, and I am always on the lookout for the next pair. A really good, dressy pair of shorts can be very difficult to find so I was thrilled when Karen Millen produced this gorgeous, black lace pair last year. I ordered them and the lovely cream drape top from the Karen Millen website as soon as I saw them.

I love this outfit; it is so versatile & each piece can be dressed up or down, worn together or with other pieces, and they can be worn pretty much anywhere. The shorts are long enough & smart enough to wear to a Wedding and still cool and funky enough to wear for an evening with friends at the pub! I often dress the shorts down by pairing them with a vintage rock & roll t-shirt and a pair of converse for a cool, edgier look.

The top is the perfect match for the lace shorts; it looks equally good with skinny jeans, denim cut-off shorts or any style of skirt, maxi, midi or mini.

I kept the styling for this outfit quite minimalist, as I wanted the fabulous lace shorts to be the main focus. I paired them with classic black Louboutins (these shoes go with everything) & some very simple, silver Tiffany jewellery.
