Flowers In My Hair

Rock ‘N Rose is a British vintage-inspired jewellery brand that has quickly gained a huge following amongst celebrities, fashionistas and retailers around the world. They say their typical customer is "part vicar’s daughter, part rebel without a cause. Jewellery and headwear by Rock ‘N Rose is for the pure girl with a punk heart".

I fell in love with 'Beatrice', their oversized floral crown; it is absolutely stunning, featuring seven oversized red roses sitting on a braided vine crown. The crown measures 58cm and can be gently shaped to fit any head. A black ribbon tie is included to secure the crown in place.

The language of flowers goes back thousands of years and today flowers are still worn for Weddings, Festivals and traditional Spring and Harvest celebrations all over the world. And in my case, for a very special photoshoot; I felt like an ethereal Woodland Nymph in my beautiful floral crown!

Hell For Leather

This gorgeous navy leather dress was a recent birthday present from my Husband. Oh he knows me well, I adore it & I can't even tell you how many brownie points he earned for buying this little gem for me!

Designed by one of my favourite Designers, Ireland's Emma Manley, it is made of soft, buttery, perforated leather. Longer at the back, shorter at the front, this amazing piece features snap fasteners to the front, scalloped edges, a satin belt/tie and is embellished with dozens of dome shaped brass studs. Unexpectedly versatile, this dress can also be worn as a jacket or a waistcoat for a very 1970s look.

The dress is a real statement piece so it doesn't need a lot of fussy styling or accessories. I styled it quite simply with metalic Dior heels, a feather clutch from ASOS & bright red lips.

Is It A Bird? Is It A Plane?

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it's a skort. "A skort? What's a skort?", I hear you ask; a skort is a pair of shorts with a fabric panel resembling a skirt covering the front. The Skort is a key piece this Spring/Summer & unsurprisingly, the best ones come from High Street favourite, Zara.

This super versatile piece is available in white, black and cobalt blue. Despite my reputation for dribbling, spilling and generally destroying pale coloured clothing, I chose a white one which, while it remains pristine and unstained, is quite simply beautiful!

I paired it with a gorgeous, voluminous, ribbed jersey top by Irish Designer Emma Manley; oh I'll be wearing this cool, slouchy top for a long time, with practically everything I own. Longer at the front, shorter at the back, it is loose fitting with tight gathered-in sleeves. It can be worn back to front too!

I finished my look off with purse friendly silver shoes, also from Zara, and a cool Ally Capellino clutch bag.

Plain Sailing

Savannah Miller's S/S13 collection was inspired by the cult 1969 movie 'More' by Barbette Shroeder. Full of wonderful, easy to wear pieces such as 1970s high-waisted jeans, pretty Summer dresses, sexy cut-out swimwear, colourful kaftans and cork wedges in bright Summery hues, it is a fresh, modern, bohemian collection with a cool, rock & roll edge.

I fell in love with this sweet sailor dress as soon as I spied it in the Lookbook; made of 100% cotton it features 3/4 length sleeves, a cute sailor collar that ties at the neck, button fastening at the back and on the cuffs, pleats in the skirt and it comes in a pretty shade of denim blue.

I styled it with great peep-toe shoe boots from See by Chloe; they add a harder, funkier edge to an otherwise sweet, girlie look. We did the photoshoot for this blog post in the most vicious of winds; I'm genuinely surprised we had a single useable photo as the wind literally tried to undress me & blow my pretty dress into the next County!

The 'Savannah' collection is available exclusively online at www.nelly.com. Check it out and treat yourself, you won't regret it!

Bambi

Legendary American Fashion Designer Betsey Johnson has always followed her own fashion rules; she is best known for her over-the-top, unique, whimsical, feminine designs.

The 'Bambi' tunic dress is one of Betsey's most iconic designs. Psychedelic & quirky, this multi-colour mosaic deer print dress features 3/4 length kimono sleeves with ruffle trim, an empire waistline with tie back belt, a crossover v-neckline and a flouncy frill hemline. It simply slips on. Incredibly colourful & busy, it somehow just works.

In keeping with the sassy, vintage 70s vibe, I styled it with wooden heeled tan sandals from Reiss & bright scarlet lips. This is one fiercely groovy look, yeah baby!
