All About Eve

I was in Dublin a couple of weeks ago and had the very great pleasure of visiting Emma Manley's Studio to see where all the Manley magic happens! I had a sneaky peek at her stunning A/W14 collection (oh just you wait til you see it!!) and I got to play dress up in some of my favourite pieces from the current Manley collection. Best of all, I left with a bag full of delicious Manley goodies!

This dress is glorious! I'd had my eye on it from the moment I saw it in the Manley Lookbook months ago. I already have it in pink (blogged here) but I couldn't resist the great teal colour. Beautiful 'Eve' has a perforated leather front and back panel. The leather is hand cut with a scalloped edge & features Manley's signature gold stud detail. The jersey side panels are flared with ties on both sides of the leather front and back panels.

I matched the magnificent teal colour of the dress with a beautiful teal patent clutch from Twenty8twelve and then clashed the whole look up with the most wonderful pink Christian Louboutin shoes.

I must say a huge big thanks to Emma for such a great time in her Dublin studio; she is beautiful, ridiculously talented & definitely the Hostess with the mostest (Hubby says thank you for feeding him!). What a great thrill it was for this Manley Girl to be let loose in her idea of fashion Heaven!

Come Into The Garden Maud

Twenty8Twelve's 'Denise' dress is the perfect mix of elegant and edgy. I bought it a few years ago and I loved it so much I got it in two colours; in a beautiful green/gold colourway and this classic black. In darkest ebony silk-georgette, the Denise empire line dress features a romantic lace ruffle collar, lace flutter sleeves, pintucked pleating to the front, a concealed zip to the back and silk lining.

I wasn't planning to blog about this dress to be honest; I was simply wearing it under a great coat from Antipodium that I was photographing for a post (see here) but I love these photos & I adore the dress so it seemed silly not to share it with you. Teamed with my favourite flats, this is such a cute, easy to wear combo!

I was reading Tennyson by the wishing well at Waggoner’s Wells in this shoot; this is the beautiful poem he wrote there in 1863:

Flower in the crannied wall,
I pluck you out of the crannies,
I hold you here, root and all, in my hand,
Little flower—but if I could understand
What you are, root and all, and all in all,
I should know what God and man is.

And yep, I'm pale, tan-less, translucent in these blog photos; this is an incredibly rare occurrence and I can't promise it will ever happen again! It might though. Maybe.

After Dark All Cats Are Leopards

Antipodium's 'Intersection' coat, in a fabulous, mixed leopard print tapestry, is quite simply the coolest coat of the season. I was lusting after it from the moment I spied it online!

A great transeasonal piece, it is made from an easy-wear woven fabric and features hidden buttons, side paneling with two large pockets and is finished with a detachable shearling collar (not seen here).

I wore it for a rainy day out with a cute black dress from Twenty8twelve, my 'wear them with everything' black patent ASOS brogues & a great black satchel from The Cambridge Satchel Co.

Poupee

The beautiful 'Poupee' dress is my favourite piece from Twenty8twelve's fabulous pre-Fall13 collection. It had only just hit the store when I snapped it up and it is already selling out fast!

Poupee means doll or poppet and it's a very apt name for this delicate, girly piece. A beautiful boho style dress, it features short sleeves, pleats at the waist, a fabulous contrast embroidery in blue throughout and scalloped edges for a delicate finish. It has a very relaxed fit & looks beautiful worn loose and flowing or styled with a belt for a slightly more structured look.

I chose to style the dress with a belt for this Blog post. It's an old, much loved leather belt from one of Twenty8twelve's very first collections. I wore a cool pair of See by Chloe peep-toe shoe boots to add a tougher edge to the dress & finished the look off with a great red satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Co.

Pretty Rock & Roll

This cute, Summery cotton voile dress is my very first purchase from the fantastic new Winter Kate S/S13 collection and it's fair to say it won't be my last! The collection is incredible, full of the most beautiful, feminine, romantical pieces; Nicole Richie has simply outdone herself this season!

The 'Freesia' dress is adorable; it features a beautiful print in soft pastel hues of olive & ivory. It is sleeveless, a loose fitting A-line shape and has delicate lace detailing at the neck & hem which adds a very girlie feel to it.

This soft hazy print is featured a lot in the new Winter Kate collection; on various tops and most interestingly on a fabulous pair of slouchy trousers called... wait for it... 'Fiona'! Named after me I like to believe, har har!

Freesia is such an easy to wear dress; you can literally throw it on & you're good to go. I decided however, to add a little definition to the slouchy shape by styling it with a studded belt from Twenty8twelve. Sticking with the rock & roll edge the belt gave the dress, I added a great pair of rock chic boots from Russell & Bromley; the iconic 'Rockafela' ankle boots. I then braved the very chilly Spring weather to take a few snaps for the Blog. Oh it felt so good to wear Spring clothes and to get my legs out again at last... roll on Summer!!
