Whiter Shade Of Pale

I wore this stunning Lennon Courtney dress to a charity black tie Do. The dress code was 'Black & White' and believe it or not, I was literally the only woman there wearing white! Literally, one white dress in a sea of black dresses; oh if looks could kill!

I've only recently discovered Lennon Courtney and I am besotted with their beautiful, lady-like designs. This dress is a particular favourite. Each season they will design a star dress for that big 'Wow' moment at the end of their runway show and last season it was this beauty. A stunning, full length, heavy crepe silk dress (available in white & black) with a detachable belt, two front pockets and 3/4 length sleeves. I can imagine Grace Kelly or Veronica Lake wowing on the red carpet in olden-day Hollywood in this dress.

For my night out, I styled it with bold red lips (I LOVE a red lip with an all white ensemble) and my favourite Christian Louboutin peep-toe shoes. I continued the red lip theme with a fabulous Lips clutch by Lulu Guinness. I love this look. A clean, simple silhouette, demure with old-world appeal; I felt like a million dollars all night!

Pieces Of Silver

I've added another Emma Manley dress to my wardrobe. I know, I know; my name is Fifibaggins and I am a Manley addict! I just can't get enough of Emma's fantastic designs. They are so easy to wear, they are cool, they are different and I love how pieces from each collection are interchangeable. I'll be wearing these designs for years to come.

The stunning 'Lee' dress is my latest fix... er... purchase! It features a fantastic contrasting yoke and collar in a distressed metallic leather. The collar is hand cut with a scalloped edge and ensures that the dress is a real standout piece. One of my friends commented that it looked a little bit Country, a little bit Rock & Roll; the singer in me loves that! Cut in a flattering A-line shape, the dress features 3/4 length sleeves, silver button detailing to the front, an invisible side zip, dropped pockets on the front panel and is finished off with ties that can be tied back for a more fitted look.

I styled the dress with a pair of silver Miu Miu shoes I'd not worn for a while; I'd forgotten how fabulous they are & I can assure you I will be wearing them a lot now to make up for lost time! I finished the look off with a bright pink lipstick to add a burst of colour to my all silver ensemble.

I'm With The Band

In anticipation of the imminent release of my talented pal Steve Balsamo's new album, I treated myself to one of his cool band t-shirts. I love a great band tee, I have a little collection of them now, but this one is particularly special as it was designed by Steve himself. He's a talented Artist in every sense of the word! All his band merchandise is available to buy online from Dizzyjam; it's really worth checking out.

For a recent night out, rather aptly at a night of great live music, I wore my cool t-shirt with a faux-leather skirt by Irish design team Lennon Courtney (also blogged here). I love the contradictory mix of the ladylike, elegant skirt and the cool, casual rock 'n' roll tee. I added a classic pair of Christian Louboutin shoes and a bright, in-your-face, pink lipstick to complete my look.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Steve & his beautiful co-singer Rosalie great success with their latest musical adventure. It's going to be huge; I've got a feeling!! Check out this fantastic little film for a preview of what's to come on Balsamo/Deighton's highly anticipated debut album.

Red Satchel

Everybody has heard of The Cambridge Satchel Company. Right? Did you know however that it's founder, Julie Deane (the 'accidental entrepreneur') actually launched her satchel business from her kitchen? That was in 2008 & the Company now employs more than 100 staff in both their Head Office in Cambridge & their Factory in Leicester. The super cool satchels have become iconic fashion staples for celebrities, bloggers & bag lovers the world over!

I've wanted one for ages; the only thing that delayed me getting one was trying to decide what size & colour I wanted! I eventually chose the smallest size, 11 inches (also available in 13", 14" and 15") and a beautiful, bright red colour (the satchels are available in every colour imaginable!).

The last time I had a satchel was when I was a schoolgirl; brown and battered, it was worlds away from this scarlet beauty! Handmade in the UK using the finest quality leather, my satchel features a well structured body, a front flap close, silver buckle closures on two straps, a front pocket & an adjustable shoulder strap. My name has been blind embossed on the front to add a very cool, personal touch.

For it's very first outing, I styled my gorgeous red satchel with a simple denim dress from Whistles, much loved ankle boots from Karen Millen & a bright red MAC lipstick.

Black & Blue

A shift dress is a classic wardrobe staple; it flatters all body shapes and sizes and can be dressed up or down to suit almost any occasion. I spied this particular shift dress in Zara last weekend & snapped it up immediately; it's a beauty!

The dress has a loose fit and features a round neckline, long sleeves, two side pockets, a slightly longer hemline to the back and it simply slips on. It embraces one of this seasons hottest trends - colour blocking - in an unexpected combination of black and a rich, bright blue.

I styled this cool piece with a classic pair of Christian Louboutin peep-toe shoes and tanned bare legs. I matched my dramatic red lipstick to the utterly gorgeous Lulu Guinness Lips clutch bag!

Isolde

This beautiful, silk Winter Kate dress was a fabulous Christmas present from my lovely Husband a couple of years ago. It is one of the easiest items of clothing to wear; I just slip it on & I am literally good to go!

I love the ivory colour with the contrasting black trim detail, it's a great way to do monochrome. The loose, three quarter length sleeves & feminine, trapeze shape give this vintage inspired dress a very romantic, ethereal feel but I decided to toughen the look up a little here. I styled it with black tights, my much loved Jeffrey Campbell Litas and some fierce gold jewellery by House of Harlow & ASOS.

The lipstick I'm wearing is the fantastic neon pink 'Impassioned' by MAC; I couldn't believe my luck when it arrived in the post and I am absolutely besotted with this beautiful, bright colour!

Piera

I bought this dress from Reiss a few years ago & it has become a 'going out' staple. I love it because it is almost body-con but not so clingy that I have to spend an entire night out holding my tummy in!

The dress features long sleeves, a round neck, a sexy scoop back & thigh skimming hemline. The 'dots' are actually tiny crystal studs that sparkle like glorious little stars when they catch the light! It's a very simple style but the sparkles make it feel very glamorous indeed.

I have teamed it here with black Christian Louboutin peep-toe shoes & matched my lips to the iconic red soles with a swipe of my favourite MAC lipstick. The perfect outfit for the Christmas party season!
