Anya

The 'Anya' silk vest top with its unusual tail detail and self adjusting zip-up back is one of my favourite pieces from Kymerah's stunning S/S12 collection. My heart literally skipped a beat when it arrived (thank you so much Kymerah!!) & I simply couldn't wait to wear it!

This incredibly versatile top can be worn in so many different ways; loose & flowing as I've worn it here, for a carefree, comfortable look or tucked in for a smarter, more tailored look. The tails can be tied at the back for a funky, fitted look and the zip at the back can be opened as far up as you dare for an effortlessly sexy look!

For a romantic night out I paired the top with tailored, high waisted shorts in sky blue from Reiss and the most delicate, feminine, Swarovski crystal encrusted t-bar sandals in soft metallic leather by GinaAccessories were kept very simple with a Reiss colour block box clutch, in blues to compliment the blue shorts, and my Michael Kors gold watch.

I cheated on MAC and swapped my usual matte red lipstick for a brighter, creamier one; 'Heat Wave' by NARS, my new favourite. You must try it, it is absolutely gorgeous!

Peter Pan

I have been in and out of love with Topshop for as long as I can remember. Right now, I am hopelessly IN LOVE! They have produced some incredible, wearable pieces over the last few seasons and my bank balance can hardly keep up!

One of my favourite things to wear is a shorts playsuit and a shorts playsuit is something good ol' Toppers does particularly well. I live in them all year round, with bare legs and a big smile in the Summer and with black opaque tights and shoeboots when the weather gets cooler.

This gorgeous little shorts playsuit is a case in point; it is so special! The navy velvet lends a very luxurious feel to it, it looks expensive but it was actually a very affordable £50! The white lace Peter Pan collar adds a gorgeous girly contrast. I love a Peter Pan collar; that girly rounded collar that evokes a sense of innocence and is favoured by ingenue-esque starlets like Alexa Chung and Kirsten Dunst. It was allegedly named after the collar of the costume worn by actress Maude Adams in 1905 when she played Peter Pan and has since become a trend that reappears season after season, year after year.

Here I have teamed my playsuit with nude patent shoes and a delicious pink lipstick in keeping with the cute, girly look.

Black Lace

A little while ago, designer brand Issa produced a range of beautiful lace dresses exclusively for Net-a-Porter. They cost an absolute fortune and I knew I could never have one without at least taking out a second mortgage!

So instead, I searched the High Street & the Internet for a cheaper alternative. I struck solid gold when I came across this Juicy Couture 'Guipure' black lace dress (also on Net-a-Porter) and was absolutely thrilled when my darling Husband bought it for me for Valentine's Day!

It is the most gorgeous, girly dress & one of the very few I own that didn't require some alteration or other to make it fit!

I have styled it here with my ever present Tiffany charm bracelet (a wedding anniversary present from years ago... it is rarely off my wrist!) & a pair of blue satin shoes. I love a bright pop of colour with a simple, sweet dress like this!

Padma

The Gilt Group is an invitation only sale site and they do the very best Designer sales! A recent purchase from them (at a fraction of the original price) was this fun, flirty, tank style Winter Kate dress.

This simple throw on piece has an unusual asymmetrical hem-line, a raw edged ruffle trim at the shoulders & front, a cute pouch pocket and a keyhole cut-out detail, with button fastening at the neck, which adds a sexy little touch. The dress is made of soft, crinkled silk chiffon and features a beautiful Indian inspired Padma flower print (after which it is named) in a gorgeous red/pink colourway.

A number of pieces in Winter Kate's S/S12 collection have this same beautiful print; my favourite being the elusive 'Lalita' romper which I simply can't find anywhere to buy! If the lovely people at Winter Kate are listening, please please help me find it!

I styled the 'Padma' dress with my Christian Louboutin 'Mad Mary' shoes, probably the coolest shoes Louboutin has ever made! The neutral cream colour means they go with absolutely everything while the gold stud detail adds a very rock & roll edge.

To pick out the gold detail on the shoes, I accessorised with one of my favourite House of Harlow necklaces & a gold, oversized  Michael Kors watch (an amazing birthday present!)

Sac

Where do I begin with this amazing dress? It is unquestionably one of the most unusual dresses I own. It is by Australian Fashion Designer Nicola Finetti, from his A/W09 collection. Nicola states on his website that his inspirations are found in contrasts such as "north-south, white-black, constraint-freedom" and these contradictions are definitely expressed in his very unique designs.

This unusual nude shift dress features very fine fringing all over and tiny metallic threads that create a fabulous light reflecting shimmering effect. I have worn it a couple of times onstage & it has had a very extreme reaction each time. One lady commented that I was wearing a sack while another lady begged me to sell it to her then and there as she loved it so much! People also seem to have a compelling urge to stroke me whenever I wear it!

A dramatic dress like this really doesn't need much accessorising as it is such a stand out piece so I kept the look simple and edgy, pairing it with my See by Chloe cut-out shoes. I love these shoes so much! I searched the world to find a pair small enough for me & was delighted to get the last size 35 (UK 2) from good ol' Net-a-Porter!

Quick As A Cat

A Yo! Sushi restaurant has just opened near where I live; I cannot even tell you how happy this makes me as I LOVE sushi and up to now Hubby & I have had to travel quite a distance to get to our nearest Sushi restaurant! This fact, combined with the elusive British Summer sun making a very welcome appearance, made for a fantastic night out with lovely friends!

For our first evening at our new local Yo! Sushi I went for a comfortable, simple Summer look. I wore a fantastic pair of Charley 5.0 leopard print denim running style shorts. I bought these in two different sizes (from The Raw Denim Bar) as they can be styled completely differently depending on the fit.

I paired them with a very cool Zoe Tees vintage t-shirt in ivory from Donna Ida, who have the best selection of t-shirts you'll ever find under one roof. I love the sexy cut out detail on the shoulder of this great tee, it makes a very casual piece feel a little bit more glamorous. To add a slightly more dressed up feel I added my favourite studded Christian Louboutin shoes.

I then proceeded to eat my body weight in sushi (thank goodness for an elasticated waistband!) and a top night was had by all!

Kiss Me Kate

Project D's website says that they design 'beautiful dresses to make every woman feel beautiful', & it's true, they do.

My most recent Project D purchase was an incredible bargain; the beautiful 'Kate' dress was reduced in their end of season sale from £375 to a bargainlicious £75!! I snapped it up! The dress was a little too long for me so I sent it to my then trusty Tailor for alteration. I actually cried when he returned it to me; he had absolutely butchered it and the hem was all kinds of different lengths! It was incredibly shabby work for such a simple alteration but thankfully a new, highly recommended Tailor came to the rescue and managed to fix it. It's a little shorter than I'd originally wanted it to be but thank goodness it's still wearable!

It was the colour and beautiful floral print that first attracted me to this lovely dress. It's proved to be a very popular combination as there are two other completely different style dresses available from Project D in the same gorgeous colour/print. Pippa Middleton, sister of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, was recently spotted wearing the fabulous 'Elle' maxi version to a Wedding and she looked incredible!

This navy printed silk tea dress immediately makes you feel lady-like while the deep plunging neckline ensures you always have a cheeky twinkle in your eye! I teamed it for a night out, with Christian Louboutin 'Very Prive'  black peep-toe shoes & some silver Tiffany trinkets for a cute, girlie look.
